Carnivor, great restaurant in the neighbourhood

We found out that the best restaurant is really around the corner. The restaurant Carnivor is located on a beautiful Masia, really old, nicely decorated and with a beautiful terrace. the food is really spanish, a good place if you’re looking for a big steak.

El Garraf

  • The natural park El Garraf. The El Garraf district receives its name from the mountains located to the east of the district. Classified as a nature park, this mountainous area contains flora and fauna difficult to find anywhere other than on the Catalan coast.
  • El Garraf, together wit the l’Alt and Baix Penedès districts, forms the natural region of Penedès, which occupies part of the coastal area. It is separated from the Penedès depression by the Garraf massif, formed by limestone, which reaches the sea forming a typical coastal landscape, engraved by the action of the sea which has formed a large number of caves.
  • The district capital is Vilanova i la Geltrú, one of the most important fishing ports in Catalonia.

Parc d’Olèrdola

Looking from the villa in northwest direction you can see the old ruins of the Olèrdola castle. It lays on route to the village vilafranca del Penedès. Olèrdola castle controlled the area of the Penedès Depression in the Early Middle Ages, reaching the height of its significance when its castle dominated the region under the control of the rebellious Mir Geribert, “Prince of Olèrdola”. Its importance declined from the twelfth century and its administrative role was taken by Vilafranca del Penedès. see link

Tarragona

Everybody knows Barcelona, but on the other side of Olivella you will find Tarragona (near the airport Reus). It’s about an 45/60 min drive. Tarragona is worthwhile visiting. It has an old history with lots of Roman ruins in the city. The old village of Tarragona is beautiful and a must see! See link for more information.
